Establishing a Lifetime of Happy, Healthy Smiles

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends finding your child’s Dental Home by age one or when the first tooth emerges, whichever occurs first. Establishing your child’s Dental Home provides the opportunity to implement preventive dental health habits that keep a child free from dental/oral disease. Rebeccas Testsa’s Dentistry focuses on prevention, early detection, and treatment of dental diseases. We work to keep current on the latest advances in dentistry for children, and our services reflect just that.

Our goal at Rebecca Testa Pediatric Dentistry is to help all children feel good about visiting the dentist and teach them how to care for their teeth. From our special office designs to our communication style, our main concern is what is best for your child.

Preventative Care

Our Goal at Rebecca testa Pediatric Dentistry is to make every parent feel informed and knowledgeable on what we do in our practice to make your child’s smile shine bright. Below is a list of our services that we use to help you feel comfortable and prepared for your first visit or many visits to come at Rebecca Testa Pediatric Dentistry.

Age One Visits

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends children start seeing the dentist when the first tooth appears or around age one, whichever comes first. Early visits to the dentist are shown to decrease a child’s chance of developing cavities.

Cleanings & Exams

Having your child visit us every 6 months for an exam and cleaning is an important part of maintaining great dental health. During the first dental visit, we will get to know your child and get him/her acquainted with the dental office. We also evaluate the child’s dental health, as well as offer tips in good dental care for your child. Our goal is to have our patients to feel comfortable and happy about visiting the dentist!

Sealants are a thin, white coating that can be placed on the chewing surfaces of permanent molars to help reduce the chance dental decay will develop in these cavity-prone areas. Dental sealants are one of the most cost-effective means of reducing early childhood cavities. Studies have shown that sealants reduce cavities by up to 80% in children.

Fluoride Treatment

Teeth are composed of many tiny pieces called molecules that attach to each other. Throughout the day these tiny pieces are constantly breaking apart and reforming depending on our diet. Fluoride can be thought of as a “glue” for these pieces by keeping the molecules more tightly bound together and less prone to breaking apart. Topical fluoride treatment is effective in protecting children’s teeth and reducing cavities.

Radiographs (or x-rays) are an essential part of our diagnostic protocol. Without them, dental conditions may go undetected. Dental x-rays detect much more than dental cavities. They allow the dentist to evaluate growth and development, bone health, pathology and evaluate trauma. At Little Bite Pediatric Dentistry we are using the latest dental x-ray technology with very minimal exposure.
